Junior outfielder Mike Colangelo from Dumfries, VA, has been named the CAA Player of the Week.
Colangelo batted .632 (12-of-19) as he led the Patriots to five victories, including a three-game road sweep of East Carolina. Against the Pirates, he batted .615 (8-of-13) with a double, two home runs and six RBI. His two dingers were both opposite field shots off the scoreboard in GMU's record setting 27-17 victory on Saturday.
For the week, Colangelo also collected 12 RBI with a slugging percentage of 1.21% and 11 runs scored. He currently ranks first in the CAA in triples (7), second in batting average (.420), third in RBI (51) and fourth in doubles (16).
In the NCAA Statistics, through games of April 13, Colangelo ranks tied for third in the nation with an average of 0.19 triples per game, with seven in 37 games.
