Lima, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and a 1994 graduate of the Institute of Arts and Science (INDAC)in Brazil, had an outstanding weekend as he was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the Hofstra/UMBRO Invitational as he helped the Patriots to a pair of victories. George Mason (ranked 14th in the NSCAA/UMBRO coaches poll, 17th by Soccer America and 19th by Soccer News) defeated Iona Friday, 4-1, and Fordham Sunday, 5-0, to improve to 6-0-1 this season.
At 6-1, 170 pounds, Lima provides the Patriots with a sizable and exciting presence in front of opposing goals. He used that advantage to pass for an assist against Iona, then added two goals and an assist in the victory over Fordham. Lima currently leads George Mason with four goals and 11 points, and his three assists ties him for second on the squad.
