Jason Miskiri (Takoma Park, MD) is the George Mason University Athlete of the Week. The 6-2 junior guard on the men's basketball team averaged 18.0 points 6.0 assists and 4.0 steals in two games for the Patriots last week.
Miskiri scored a team high 15 points, passed for a career high six assists and recorded three steals in a 58-50 setback at Old Dominion last Wednesday night.
He followed that up with a career high 22 points, career best five steals and tied his career high with six assists in leading the Patriots to a 72-55 win over American University on Saturday. Miskiri hit on seven of 13 field goals, including a pair of 3-pointers, and hit all six of his free throws in helping George Mason to the triumph over its crosstown rival.
Miskiri has helped the Patriots to five wins in their last nine games. The versatile backcourt performer leads the team in scoring (16.9) free throw percentage (72.5) and assists (39). He is second in rebounding (4.4) and third in steals (20).
He will lead the Patriots into action at William & Mary this Wednesday and against James Madison on Saturday.
