Alliance for Conflict Transformation, Inc. (ACT)

The Alliance for Conflict Transformation (ACT), Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding the knowledge and practice of conflict transformation and peacebuilding within the U.S. and international communities.

ACT is an Alliance of skilled professionals with advanced degrees and over 50 years of collective professional experience and expertise in community building and conflict resolution. ACT recognizes that Conflict is an inseperable part of human interaction. When addressed effectively, it can lead to peaceful and positive change. ACT helps people Transform destructive conflicts by addressing underlying needs and concerns, building sustainable relationships,and changing the contexts and conditions that foster violence.

International Peace Research Association

IPRA is the global network of peace historians and researchers. ICAR Director Kevin Clements is currently (1995-96) President of IPRA, having served previously as coordinator of the Asian-Pacific Peace Research network. IPRA is an important networking point for ICAR and a channel through which our ideas are disseminated, tested and refined.

National Institute for Dispute Resolution

The National Institute for Dispute Resolution (NIDR) fosters the development of innovative conflict resolution processes. Their goal is to provide those in conflict with the skills and understanding to productively solve problems. NIDR focuses special attention on underrepresented ethnic, economic, and cultural groups.
